In October 2004, the Portsmouth Rotary Club was awarded Centennial Honors for its Friends Forever program - one of the best programs in the history of Rotary International.
The Portsmouth Rotary later gave the award to Robert Raiche, the founder of Friends Forever and the man who kept it going for many years.
