Greetings fellow Rotarians, friends and family,
It is 6:30PM and the final packing of our Rotaplast supplies is happening as we speak. People are tired but happy. Tomorrow will be emotional as it is Closing Clinic and we say our final goodbyes to the patients and families. The team will spend tomorrow afternoon together for a little sightseeing, a little shopping and lots of relaxing. We will be on a bus at 8:30 tomorrow night until 5:30 the following morning as we head for the Caracas airport.

Subject: Rotaplast Surgery Day 3
Greetings,
Due to the phone lines being down, my mailings are a day behind. Hope you do not mind receiving two in one day.

The team is a fabulous group of people. It is truly international in nature with a surgeon from the Czech Republic, a dentist from Brazil, translators originally from Ecuador and Chile and of course west and east coast Americans.

Enjoy,

Greetings from Cumana,
All is well here. Long days, up at 5:30 and back at the hotel about 7:30PM.
The phone lines are down most of the time so email at the hotel is practically nil. I am using the one computer we have access to at the hospital.
Attached is an update.

Everyone is well and really enjoying themselves. Not to worry.

Subject: More Rotaplast Photos
Greetings from Venezuela,
Attached are three photos. The baby is just one of the many darlings we see on a daily basis. The woman cradling a baby in the Recovery Room is Rosemarie Powers from Yarmouth and the woman standing in the third photo is Trish, a Recovery Room nurse from Methuen, MA. and shows one of the many Wrap A Smile quilts.

I hope you enjoy these photos. Your donations to Rotaplast enabled District 7780 to sponsor this Rotaplast mission. Please know that the people of Cumana are most appreciative of your efforts. Thank you.

Subject: Rotaplast Mission
Greeting Fellow Rotarians and Friends,
Here is more news from our Rotaplast mission in Cumana, Venezuela. In my previous email, I inadvertently left out a fellow Rotarian from our District who is also here on this mission, Katherine Kokko from the Rotary Club of Dover, NH. My apologies to Kate and fellow Dover Rotarians for this oversight.
Attached are two photos. One is of Wolfang, the fisherman that I write about in the attached document. The other photo was taken at opening clinic. I mention that many of the children we saw at opening clinic have had previous surgery. This girl has benefited from Rotaplast missions 7 times and what a graceful proud young woman she has become. Her previous photos at opening clinics sure tell the story when compared to today.
A second email with two photos will follow shortly.
