What a beautiful day for Rotary. Spring is not here just yet, but it sure feels like it!

Gordon Allen gave a lengthy reading of his poem which was completely from memory and he was followed by Jay Gibson, Mark Sullivan, Ben Wheeler (who gave a poem about the expectant mother as his wife is soon due with their first), Aileen Dugan, Fred Pettigrew, Pat Griffin, Bob Field and to end the poetry hoot the one and only Dave Holden.

One of our new Rotarians, Ann Kelly, gave a great poem about Rotary and it went over big with the club.

You can find it on our club Facebook page. Here is a poem that did not make the cut. Get your tissues out - it is a tear jerker.

TRUE FRIENDSHIP

When you are sad -- I will plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad.

 When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

 When you smile -- I will know you finally got a date.

 When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get.

 When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much Worse it could be until you quit whining.

 When you are confused -- I will use little words.

 When you are sick -- Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.

 When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsy butt.

This is my oath.... I pledge it to the end. "Why?" you may ask;

Because you are my friend.
