Gardner vows to protect N.H.'s first-in-the-nation primary
GREENLAND — N.H. Secretary of State Bill Gardner said he will do “whatever it takes” to preserve the state’s first-in-the-nation primary status, a tradition that has long represented “the little guy” in presidential politics.
Gardner spoke at length about the Granite State tradition to members of the Portsmouth Rotary Club over lunch Thursday afternoon at the Portsmouth Country Club.
Responding to a question from the audience, Gardner said the primary is “never about the money,” but is “about giving the little guy a chance in this process.”
