We live in a hurried and complex world. That’s why it’s refreshing and fulfilling to be a part of an organization that actually makes a difference! Rotary was recognized in 2016 as the 4th most responsible and effective charity in the world. That’s according to Direct Relief’s Charity Navigator.

Rotary’s goal is to make the world a better place. We work hard at helping those in need at all geographic levels: global, regional and local. Here are a few examples of Rotary’s work:

Eradicating Polio globally. Only 1% of the world is left to immunize. Mostly thanks to the efforts of local Clubs, regional Districts and Rotary International.
Provides powerful leadership training and support regarding conflict resolution in the world. We do this through initiatives like Youth Exchange and conflict dialogue training at the International Center for Peace.
Funding special needs projects in our local Portsmouth community. These projects include work such as improvements to non-profit facilities. We support our local Salvation Army and other basic needs organizations.

Portsmouth Rotary Club offers its members a variety of important weekly speakers and programs. There are volunteer opportunities throughout the year, and networking with a diverse membership.

If you want to make a difference in this world with a little camaraderie thrown in—come visit! You’ll discover like-minded individuals from all walks of life.
